About metal garage kit skylights
Skylights are designed for the metal arches on garage kits with a corrugated bottom that fits right into place on the roof arches. Think of the skylight as a section of the roof panel that is transparent. The design is engineered to let light in from the top and sides of the window as it has a curved shape that bends inward into the building vs. a flat window. Skylights can be placed onto any of our metal garage kit models, even the “P” Model and “A” Model where the roof is flat as it slopes downward to the side walls. The secure fitting prevents any leaks and is water tight.
How our skylights are made
The substance used in resin of the clear windows are manufactured with polycarbonate translucent material with ultra-violet inhibitors to help prevent yellowing and keep the skylights clear for a long time.
The skylight panels are made to building codes that have high wind velocity to prevent breaking or cracks from flying objects. Our buildings are certified and very strong and stand up to hurricanes and severe weather conditions so we make sure that the skylights will not be a vulnerability on your metal garage kit structure. You can install as many light openings as you need without sacrificing the integrity of the structure.
You can install the skylights on both sides of the building about every 10 - 20 feet depending on how much light you want to let in. The lights are available in different weights and colors. Skylights are a great way to increase energy efficiency by adding natural light into the building. Some building owners install them on the sides of the building as well for wall lighting. One way to determine where to position them is to figure out what is in your interior such as separated bays, horse stalls, rooms etc to make sure the positioning of the light will be available where you need it. When you are building and designing your metal garage kit online choose how many skylights you will need and when you consult with our customer service representatives we will discuss with you where you will want to place them on your building.
